First month living in Munich
Hey guys! Hope you're all doing well! As you might already know, I moved to Munich about a month ago to do my Erasmus here. I'm going to study History of Arts and Communication and I'm super excited about this new experience! You know I love to travel and to move around and so this has been the perfect opportunity for me to get in touch with another culture and to move to another country.
I must admit, I still have to see a lot of museums and other important monuments of the city, but so far I'm loving Munich! One of the biggest attractions of the last month was definitely the Oktoberfest.
I guess you all know what it's about! I've never been to the Oktoberfest before but I loved it! The organization was on point and the atmosphere you can breathe is amazing! You basically enter this big area where you can find soooo many attractions: from the roller coaster, to the panoramic wheel... Once you're done with these attractions, you can start eating everything you want at the stands or enter these huge tends and start your real Oktoberfest experience! By the way, the maximum of liters of beer I could drink were 2 and a half haha.
Besides the Oktoberfest, the impression I have of Munich is really really good! I've been to the welcome day of my university and everything seemed so super duper organized and the people there are always ready to help you with every little problem you have! My lessons will start in about a week and I must say that I'm really curious to see how the courses are structured!
During this month I visited also Neuschwanstein (the Disney castle basically :P), Dachau, Salzburg and of course the major city sightseeing points in Munich! I've been to the ballet "Giselle" at the national theater in Munich and also to the amazing lake Chiemsee!
I've also been to the Neue Pinakothek: an art museum featuring amazing pieces, from Thorvaldsen to Casper David Friedrich, from Turner to Monet and Degas, but also Cèzanne, Overbeck, Van Gogh... ( btw. these are all artists I had to study for my exam in history of arts so I was so thrilled to see all these paintings for real!).
Of course we've also been partying a lot: from Neuraum to the spanish party, from the Sausallitos to the after Oktoberfest party!
Next week it'll be the "Ersti-Woche", a whole week planed with a lot of parties for students!
Well, I could talk about my first month here for ages, but the point is that I'm enjoying it a looooot <3
Xo
