The first one are Dolce&Gabbana.
A designer really manages to impress me, when they don't just create a simple dress ( it doesn't matter whether it's couture or not), but when they simply create a wearable piece of art. And I reckon this is what the two stylists Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana do.
They created their fashion house in 1985 and at the beginning of their career, they didn't even have enough money to engage models for the Milan Fashion Week, so they just called their friends, who pretended to be models.
The image they create trough their dresses is the one of a typical elegant italian woman. Maybe it's because of this that I like their pieces so much. It evokes in me a certain feeling of belonging and I kind of see myself in those clothes. It's weird, but every time I see new collections, I always dream of being in South Italy, wearing those dresses and I always make up my own personal story about that cloth.
They represent a strong, independent and elegant woman. They also remind me of the baroque. Since I'm not sober, plain and simple, I love the exagerations that distinguished this period. Gold and everything that sparkles is what I love the most in clothing and this is also transferred in their pieces. They also have great attention for details and this is another thing that makes the difference.
The soul of Sicily perfectly comes out of their dresses.
So, these are the reasons why these two italian men are my favorite designers in the world.
