The Vienna Travel Guide
I came back from this beautiful Austrian city yesterday night! Vienna has amazing palaces and so much to offer. If you're planning a week end somewhere, you should definitely visit this place and here a list of the 10 things you can't miss in Vienna!! Enjoy.
1. Naschmarkt
If you're hungry or you just want to grab a coffe sitting in bars and enjoying the beautiful sunny days in Vienna, you shouldn't miss the Naschmarkt. That's where you can have a chat with friends, eat every kind of food (from oriental food to hamburgers... in this market you can find everything!!), drink something or buy spices and food.
2. Schloss Belvedere
This amazing palace is located in the third district of the city, right in the center, and it's really easy to get there. This baroque building houses also a museum and has a beautiful park to walk through. The majesty of this place and the beauty of the gardens are things you don't want to miss if you're spending some days in Vienna!
3. Motto am Fluss
This place is on the Danube canal and I went there to have a drink after a long time walking around the city. What do I need to say... It's the best things to conclude a day in this way. A tip: you should try the french fries! They're so good!!You can get there also with the subway (Schwedenplatz)
4. Hofburg
This palace is right in the center of the city and was built in the 13th century. It was so interesting to discover more about the Habsburg dynasty and the Princess Sissi. If you're curious as I was to see the inner part of the palace, you should buy your ticket and discover its incredible architecture.
5. Eat Sachertorte at the Sacher Hotel
I think the picture talks for itself... :P No words are needed. Just enjoy the best cake ever in the place where it was created.... Hmmmmm.... Just gimme another slice please!!!
6. Have a drink at Onyx bar while enjoying the view
Right in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral, you can enjoy the view while drinking something in this beautiful location.
7. Museumsquartier
It's always a good idea to visit a museum. In this part of the city, the museums are located right one in front of the other, so you'll have so many to choose from, according to your interests and passions. I visited the Leopold's museum, which exposed some of Schiele's and Klimt's artworks.
8. Hundertwasserhaus
This beautiful buildings were created from the original idea of the architect Hundertwasser. This is a special place and I wished I lived in this incredible building. It's worth the visit!!!
9. Schònbrunn
Definitely one of the best moments of my trip to Vienna: here you can really feel like a princess and while visiting the inner parts of this other Habsburg dynasty's palace, you'll wonder how life at the palace was like. Lift your head up and admire the incredible frescos, which will leave you breathless.
10. Prater
This is Europe's most antique amusement park and if you want to have some fun you should definitely go there!
